TECHNOLOGY AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

The Technology and Operations Management Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level to begin August 2018.

 

The Position

The new faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate classes primarily in E-Business and Supply Chain Technology, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Technology Management. Integration of modern supply chain technologies into the curriculum is a high priority strategic goal of the department and the candidate is expected to provide significant support and contribution toward this goal. The successful candidate must also have a strong interest in research and scholarly activities. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.

 

Minimum Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D./DBA with concentration in Operations Management or Supply Chain management from an AACSB accredited institution with emphasis in supply chain management technologies, E-commerce, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Customer Relation Management.  ABD candidates will be considered, but must have their degree completed by August 1, 2018. Candidates will have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and publishing in high quality peer-reviewed journals in their areas of expertise. .

 

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Academic/Experiential background in Information Systems or Business Analytics.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level. 
  • Demonstration of ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community

      through research, teaching and/or service, and of commitment to teaching and working in a  multicultural environment.

  • A Student Success Statement about your teaching or other experiences, successes, and challenges in working with a diverse student population (approximately one page, single-spaced)
  • Copies of recent classroom teaching evaluations, if available
  • Finalists for the position will be required to provide an official transcript showing doctoral degree.
  • Finalists for the position will be required to provide three recent letters of reference.

About The Department:

The Department has 10 tenure-track faculty members and approximately 320 students. The department offers upper division courses in two concentrations, which are Technology and Operations Management and E-Business.
