The California State University System announces a nationwide search to recruit a new President to San Diego State University (SDSU).

Founded in 1897, San Diego State University today enrolls approximately 35,000 students, has a budget of approximately $900 million (including auxiliaries), and has over 300,000 living alumni.  The University has recently concluded a successful $800 million capital campaign.   It has a vibrant research program with more than $130 million in research awarded last year.  SDSU’s athletic teams participate at the NCAA Division I level in the Mountain West Athletic Conference.

Reporting directly to CSU System Chancellor Timothy White, the next President will work with an excellent leadership team to build upon a strong foundation in academics, research, community service, diversity and inclusion, and athletics. The selected individual will have impeccable integrity, an appreciation for a dedicated and excellent faculty, and will have a passion for positively preparing students for fulfilling and productive lives.  The University is seeking a strong, strategic and visionary leader who is student-centered, committed to diversity and inclusion, and has exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.

While nominations and applications will be accepted until the position is filled, interested parties are encouraged to submit their materials to our consultants at the address below in a timely fashion.  Candidates should provide an updated resume and brief letter of interest.  The search is being conducted in a confidential manner and it is expected that only the sole finalist for the position will be publicly revealed.
