Saint Anselm College seeks an outstanding financial professional to join the senior leadership team as Vice President for Finance (VPF) and Chief Financial Officer. The VPF provides the financial leadership necessary to closely align the College’s resource allocation with its strategic objectives in pursuit of the vision of the President and the Board of Trustees. The VPF reports directly to the President and works closely with peers across the institution and the Board of Trustees.

The incoming VPF will join strong and cohesive teams at both the senior leadership level and within finance. Leading a team of 20, with five direct reports, the VPF provides counsel to the President and Board of Trustees in all areas of operational, tactical, and strategic financial management planning and execution. Areas reporting to the VPF include Treasury and Auxiliary Services, Budget and Planning, Controller, Facilities, and Risk Management. For fiscal year 2017, the operating budget is $77 million.

The VPF provides executive leadership in setting long-term financial strategy and short-term fiscal policy for the College as well as leads the creation of appropriate tools for analysis, the preparation of ad hoc financial analyses to support decision-making, and collaborates in the determination of funding priorities.

The VPF will be an individual with exceptional financial, administrative and leadership skills who serves as a key contributor and collaborator on the senior leadership team and with the President and Board of Trustees. The VPF will lead innovative change that will improve the use of St. Anselm’s resources while maintaining the institutions high degree of stewardship. The VPF will create financial, accounting and administrative operations that meet the current and future needs of St. Anselm and be a critical contributor in identifying and implementing processes and systems with the goal of improved service and cost effectiveness crucial to success in higher education. Successful candidates will assist the college to further its strategic goals in academic relevance and institution-wide diversity and inclusion. Successful candidates will have a broad understanding of all aspects of financial management in a college or university setting or related, significant experience and education and preferably a master’s degree and CPA credentials. A Bachelor’s degree is required.
