About the Position

 

The Sr. Web Application Developer helps drive the overall web/portal strategy, working with the business and IT management to understand solution requirements, architecting the overall system design, and leading the solution development and implementation to deliver the desired business outcomes.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

Develop, maintain, and upgrade Web Applications

Develop Web applications Maintain existing Web applications Add new functionality and enhance existing Web applications Create web pages, by using approved graphic design elements and approved standard technologies. Modify existing web pages by changing content, layout, navigation, or backend database. Plan, manage and implement purchased applications and SaaS solutions Promote web standards and best practices

Maintain and upgrade existing Web architecture

Administer, configure, and upgrade web server, databases, middleware, cgi-bin scripts and administrative tools. Implement new designs and solutions that enhance existing Web architecture, providing improved reliability, performance and capacity for Web applications Maintain documentation of physical and logical Web architecture Create, maintain, and update administrative scripts as needed Develop and implement Monitoring strategy and use of Nagios or other monitoring tools Provide Second Level support and backup to Web System Analyst for all support and web application administration needs.
