Executive Director, Pathways Center and Associate Dean, Emory College of Arts and Sciences


Emory University seeks a strategic, experienced leader to serve as the inaugural executive director of the Pathways Center. This center will be devoted to purposeful professional development and career exploration throughout the undergraduate experience.

A member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) since 1995, the university benefits from collaboration and synergy across its nine undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, Emory has approximately 15,000 students, including 8,000 undergraduates and 7,000 graduate and professional students, and draws students from every state and more than 100 countries. The Emory College of Arts and Sciences is the primary undergraduate division at the university and has an intensive liberal arts curriculum backed by all the resources of the university.


Emory University has committed to preparing every student for a lifelong journey of transformation, impact, and service. To advance this commitment further, Emory is creating the Pathways Center in the Emory College of Arts and Sciences that will reimagine undergraduate student career readiness and emphasize personal and career development across the entire four-year undergraduate experience.
Launching in 2022, the Pathways Center will play an important role in a highly visible, campus-wide initiative to cultivate undergraduate student flourishing through experiential learning, intentional reflection, and mentoring relationships. The Center will integrate existing resources and programs as well as create new initiatives that will benefit students throughout their undergraduate experience as they prepare for a meaningful life and post-graduate opportunities.


Reporting to the Dean of Emory College and serving as special advisor to the Provost for undergraduate career initiatives, the Executive Director will lead the development of the new Pathways Center. Emory University seeks a strategic and visionary leader with experience in the field of career services or related area and a student-centered approach. A proven commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is critical. Strong communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate effectively both on campus and beyond are also important.
