UCLA School of Dentistry invites qualified applications for a full-time tenured or non-tenured faculty position, at the level of Professor or Associate Professor to join the faculty at UCLA School of Dentistry, effective July 1, 2022. This position will be appointed as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and will work closely with the faculty, the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and the Curriculum and Outcomes Committees to facilitate the implementation of an effective, cutting-edge didactic and clinical curriculum.

Primary responsibilities include providing leadership and oversight for all educational programs including the predoctoral DDS program, advanced specialty and certificate programs, and the postgraduate preceptor and advanced clinical training programs. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all of the School's educational programs are in compliance with accreditation standards and is responsible for leading the accreditation self- study processes and site visits.

Applicants must possess a DDS/DMD or an equivalent dental degree (or PhD in Education for the tenured position). Candidates with skills and experience in devising, implementing and enforcing Commission on Dental Accreditation standards and an outstanding record of accomplishments in dental education and curriculum development are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should possess excellent organization and communication skills. Demonstrated abilities to build successful teams, to form consensus while advancing projects and strategic priorities in collaboration with others is highly desired. A track record of scholarship and an interest in developing a funded research program is mandatory for the tenured position and preferred for the non-tenured position-. The candidate will join the renowned faculty of the School of Dentistry and will participate in achieving the broader strategic aims of the University.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will also be engaged in preclinical/clinical or didactic teaching consistent with their area of expertise. An opportunity for part-time clinical practice will be available provided the candidate possesses credentials to attain a California dental license or is eligible for a dental license/special permit in California.
