The University of Denver (DU), a private institution dedicated to the public good, invites nominations and applications for the Dean, Graduate School of Professional Psychology.

Founded in 1864, the University of Denver is an independent, doctoral-granting, R-1 university, with very high research activity and robust undergraduate and graduate education. The Graduate School of Professional Psychology (GSPP) seeks a dean who will provide transformational leadership to prepare future generations of professional practitioners and scholars in psychology. That leadership involves offering academic programs with community-oriented practicum training of the highest quality for students; promoting and improving applied research and scholarship to advance knowledge; advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion among all members of the school community; promoting the work of the school externally; and engaging community partners across the state, nationally, and internationally to establish mutually beneficial partnerships. 

The dean provides academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership for the school. The dean works with key stakeholders to articulate and implement the school’s strategic direction, consistent with the University’s vision, values, mission, and goals. The dean is responsible for all aspects of the school’s operations, including communicating and implementing the school’s academic mission, consistent with the highest standards of quality, diversity, equity and inclusion; effectively representing GSPP to internal and external constituents; engaging in successful fundraising to elevate the visibility of the school; collaborating with graduate units across the University in curricular and research initiatives; ensuring that the school’s 15 million dollar budget is fiscally well managed; and working collaboratively with faculty and staff to improve its academic programs.
