Vice President for Student Affairs

Viterbo University, located in scenic La Crosse, Wis., invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs. The university seeks a collaborative, visionary individual to join the dynamic leadership team of President Glena Temple. The Vice President for Student Affairs is expected to assume office in July 2017 or as soon thereafter as is feasible.

As one of only 24 Franciscan universities located in the U.S., Viterbo’s values-based education features opportunities for leadership linked to service with a strong emphasis on ethics. Its mission is to prepare students for faithful service and ethical leadership. The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration recognized the importance of educating the whole person when they began teaching young students in the La Crosse area. These same values ring true today. Faculty and staff at Viterbo are dedicated to the success of all students. As educators who foster a holistic developmental experience for students and empower them to make meaningful contributions in the world, the Division of Student Affairs works to support academic success and to extend learning beyond the classroom through co-curricular programming, student activities, community service, athletics, and residential life.

The next Vice President for Student Affairs will join the University’s new generation of leadership as a visible, accessible, and engaged member of the Viterbo community and is responsible for overseeing the following: the Director of Student Life; Director of Orientation and Recreational Sports; Director of Campus Safety; Director of Dining Services; Director of Counseling Services; Director of Health Services; Director of Athletics; and an Administrative Assistant.

The successful candidate will have an earned master’s degree in a related field of study, doctorate preferred, as well as a demonstrated record of leadership in positions of increasing responsibility in student affairs in an institution of higher education and the ability to embrace and advance the Catholic and Franciscan mission of the university.
