Lecturer: Research Administration

JOB DESCRIPTION

The School of Public Administration in the College of Health and Public Affairs at the University of Central Florida invites applicants for a lecturer position that will be responsible for coordinating online Master of Research Administration (MRA) program. The program is comprised of 36 (thirty-six) credit hours.

The School of Public Administration offers a NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program, a Master of Science in Urban & Regional Planning, a completely online Master of Nonprofit Management, and undergraduate public administration degrees along with graduate and undergraduate certificate programs or minors in (Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, and Urban and Regional Planning). The school participates in a multidisciplinary Ph.D. program in Public Affairs. The School of Public Administration has one of the largest PA programs in the Southeast, with active partnerships with state and local government and community nonprofit agencies. The school is housed in the College of Health and Public Affairs and occupies a state-ofthe-art facility with access to fully equipped multimedia classrooms.

The selected candidate will teach courses in research administration, grant and contract management, legal and regulatory frameworks, legal and ethical compliance, intellectual property, technology transfer and commercialization, leadership and organizational needs, and human resource management in research administration.

The selected candidate will be expected to be active in professional research administration organizations, present scholarly work at national conferences and publish in the area of research administration to promote the program.

POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must have a completed Ph.D. or doctoral degree in a related discipline, from an accredited institutionÍž certification in Research AdministrationÍž a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of research administrationÍž and curriculum
development. Ph.D. is required by time of appointment.

PREFERENCES

Postdoctoral academic experience, and teaching both face-to-face and web-based courses. Online teaching experience in the areas of research administration, nonprofit management and/or public administration. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with a diverse range of students and a strong command of public speaking.
