Job Description Summary
This position works closely with the M&T faculty and staff to manage student affairs, administrative tasks, plan, coordinate, and execute student and alumni programming, classes, and special events, as well as serve as frequent first point of contact for prospective students, current students, staff, faculty, alumni, and VIP guests associated with the program. Accordingly, it entails providing excellent customer service, knowledge of the University's business procedures and systems, technical support and website maintenance and development, social media promotion, and management of student staff. It also involves managing the M&T Summer Institute for high school students from admissions to program execution.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required and 2 to 3 years minimum of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to prioritize, and to balance multiple tasks simultaneously is required. Comfort and experience creating content for social media channels and websites. Project Management experience is a plus. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and basic accounting knowledge required - training in the University financial software is a plus.

Job Description

The Assistant Director is responsible for fully managing the Summer Institute for high school students including the hiring and training of Teaching Assistants. They coordinate academic schedule for M&TSI; work with faculty members and external contacts for guest visits and off-campus field trips to companies; liaise with ISSS to ensure all international students meet immigration requirements; organize TA training and feedback sessions; and serve as the first point of contact with Summer Institute service provider.

The Assistant Director will be responsible for the Program's presence on various Social Media Channels, including updating the M&T website and creating content for and managing official M&T Social Media Accounts (Instagram, Twitter & Facebook).

The Assistant Director helps manage the Robbins House by monitoring service issues at the M&T building, addressing computer hardware requests, serving as office receptionist, and keeping M&T Gear inventory. They are responsible for hiring, training, managing, and mentoring student workers and student volunteers. They monitor the Program email inbox and handle inquiries from alumni, faculty, staff, prospective students and guests of the program. They ar the first point of contact for prospective students and families visiting campus and coordinate appointments for prospective student visits with M&T faculty and staff.

The Assistant Director coordinates M&T Program events by handling logistics including ordering supplies and catering, making room reservations and communicating events to the community.

The Assistant Director's financial and data upkeep responsibilities include processing payroll for student workers, handling reimbursements, helping maintain financial records, printing monthly reports, and assembling materials for monthly reconciliation and annual audit. They also create and maintain program data reports related to admissions, on-campus recruiting, & M&TSI admissions. They track and update profiles for students in University databases such as SRS.

The Assistant Director serves as the liaison to the M&T Student Board and works with the Social Committee to create events that fit the current needs of the M&T student population.
