Assistant Teaching Professor - Visual Communication and Technology Education

Position: Full-time, renewable, qualified ranked professor position at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank in both the Instructional Design and Technology master’s program and the Management and Technology baccalaureate degree completion program, Department of Visual Communication and Technology Education. 

Preferred starting date is August 2022.

 Primary Responsibilities: Teach and develop graduate level courses in instructional design and technology, and undergraduate level courses in management and technology. Mentor students on program and career advancement. Assist with the ongoing development of the programs, including refining program courses, promoting the programs, establishing internship partnerships, and recruiting students. Provide appropriate service to the department, college, university, and the profession.

 Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate or completion of all coursework (ABD) from an accredited institution in instructional design, instructional technology, learning sciences, education, or a closely related discipline (degree must be conferred by start date). At least one year of experience in designing and/or delivering online courses within the discipline.

 Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability or potential to teach and develop instructional design and technology courses on topics including instructional design principles, online learning, multimedia design, and so on. Demonstrated ability or potential to teach and develop management and technology courses on topics including computer-mediated communication, project management, technological forecasting, media usability studies, and so on. Experience working with adult learners. Experience working within public and private sector as instructional designers, information technology specialists, network administrators, or other related jobs. Supervisory or managerial experience.
