Assistant Professor, Theatre Management

The Florida State University School of Theatre invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre Management. MFA or equivalent terminal degree is required as is successful college level teaching experience.

Responsibilities include teaching three courses each semester covering Audience Development, Arts Management, Business Communications, Business and Legal Issues, Strategic Governance, and Professional Practices in the MFA Theatre Management program. We are interested in practitioners who are committed to teaching graduate students and collaborating with the School of Theatre Director and Chair on the administration of the MFA Theatre Management program. The position requires serving on School and University Committees, assisting in the mentoring of students, and working in cooperation with faculty and staff in fulfilling the educational mission of the School of Theatre. A successful candidate would bring practical leadership experience in theatre alongside a record of teaching.  Other requirements include commitment to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion; ability to work effectively with community members with respect to gender, expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class, and national or ethnic origin; as well as commitment to safe working practices.
