Job Description Summary
The Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) provides the expertise, business process, policies and standards required to plan, design, construct, operate, maintain and renew the physical assets of the University, excluding the health system. In addition, the Division, comprised of approximately five Departments, is responsible for the strategic planning, management and operation of non-academic University property, and collaborating with the neighborhood to create a safe, diverse and economically vibrant destination. With close to 12M square feet of space, FRES maintains 186 buildings on a campus of 276 acres, completes over 60,000 maintenance requests per year, and starts approximately 250 projects a year. FRES is comprised of the following Departments: Administration, Office of the University Architect, Design and Construction, Real Estate, Operations and Maintenance.

The University of Pennsylvania is implementing a campus transformation entitled Penn Connects ( http://www.pennconnects.upenn.edu ). This comprehensive, award winning effort is expanding the campus over the next 20 years, including the construction of new academic research and recreational facilities. Job Description

Payroll Administrator:

Responsible for data entry and review of time and attendance payroll information for all unionized employees. Must maintain the privacy of all personnel. Review and verify all new union information is entered and updated in AiM and Kronos. Ensure that all timecards are mapped correctly to work orders, clearing suspense weekly. Adheres to all established payroll procedures and works under limited supervision to assist the Accounting and Payroll Manager in the daily operation of the Payroll Department.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Enter timecard information into Kronos Time & Attendance system.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations supervisors to resolve timecard issues.
  • Submit monthly unionized pension payments to manager for review and payment.
  • Monitor promotions, terminations, and leaves.
  • Reconcile payroll suspense entries.
  • Review new employees' information/schedule in Kronos. Ensure start date and pay rate are accurate.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

The ideal candidate must be detailed oriented, possess an exceptional mathematical aptitude, and have strong organizational and customer service skills. The ability to effectively communicate is a must. Familiarity with University payroll, a plus.
