The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of genomic techniques and analyses, molecular biology, social insect husbandry, and behavioral experimentation. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.
Responsibilities may include investigation of the regulation of differential aging in ants, using a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, metabolic analysis, and genomics.
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscript and grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meetings, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.
Additional information candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
