New Mexico State University announces a national search for the position of Director of the School of Teacher Preparation, Administration and Leadership (TPAL), and Academic Search is honored to assist in this endeavor. The Director of this School in Las Cruces, New Mexico, will report to the new Dean of the College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation (HEST), a College that has brought together the College of Education, College of Health and Social Services, and the Department of Sociology.

The School of TPAL is devoted to the preparation of master educators, administrators, and leaders for public, private, and governmental institutions. The vision and mission of TPAL are closely linked to the role of education in this borderlands community and its advocacy for equitable education for all, especially historically marginalized and multicultural/multilingual communities and students with exceptionalities. The Director of TPAL will serve as an instrumental, collaborative leader and is expected to provide leadership and support for a full-time faculty of approximately 35 and overseeing accreditation for all undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition, the Director will oversee research and outreach efforts, support collaboration among the academic programs within the School, enhance partnerships with school districts, and create an engaging academic environment where students, staff, and faculty are invested in advancing equity, democracy, and social justice in education and society.
