Program in Education, Assistant Professor of the Practice

The Program in Education at Duke University invites applications for a regular-rank, non-tenure track position at the assistant professor of the practice level to begin July 1, 2017. Primary duties include teaching undergraduate education courses and serving as a faculty consultant for the academic service-learning program.  Candidates should hold the Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education or related field(s).

Candidates with experience teaching undergraduates and a background in service-learning pedagogy are encouraged to apply. Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service must be provided. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to addressing issues of equity and social justice related to race, class, gender, disability, and language, especially in urban schools. Particular attention will be given to candidates with experience working collaboratively with faculty across disciplines, serving as a community liaison, leading service-learning workshops, and developing and maintaining partnerships.
