Department Chair for School of Information Technology

Ivy Tech Community College is Indiana's largest public postsecondary institution and the nation's largest singly accredited statewide community college system, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The department chair will oversee the Software Development and Cyber Security-Information Assurance Programs in the School of Information Technology, in addition to any future programs the Campus chooses to bring on. Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within specific academic programs; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes; engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum; provide institutional support and community service; participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives; support the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives; conform to regional expectations of faculty performance and engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.

A qualified fulltime faculty member meets the education component of the Software Development and/or Cyber Security-Information Assurance discipline standards by being fully credentialed to teach courses the programs according to the discipline standards in ASOM 7.1: https://www.ivytech.edu/policies/index.html


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to stay up-to-date on industry certifications
  • Ability to teach multiple courses within both curriculums
  • 1+ years experience supervising faculty
  • 1+ years experience in curriculum coordination
  • 1+ years experience teaching at a community college
