Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Southern Utah University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Experimental, Social, or a related field of Psychology. The area of research specialization is open. This is a full-time, 9-month position, beginning August 2022. The salary range will be based on CUPA benchmarks. Duties and Responsibilities:

We seek a broadly trained experimental psychologist who is committed to excellence in teaching and high impact educational practices. Duties include teaching a total of 12 undergraduate/graduate credit hours per semester, making scholarly/creative contributions including mentoring undergraduate research, and providing service at the department, college, and university levels. The specific course assignments are negotiable and may include Social Psychology, Motivation and Emotion, Personality, Research Design, Statistics, History and Systems, Literature Review, Psychology of Gender, General Psychology, or other courses within the candidate's qualifications. The Psychology Department is currently building a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology program, and the opportunity to teach graduate courses in this program exists.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required Qualifications -

Qualified applicants will hold a Ph.D. in Experimental, Social, or a related field of Psychology. Area of research specialization is open. ABD's will be considered if the degree will be conferred prior to the starting date for the position. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, have a commitment to undergraduate research, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines in an academic setting.
