The focus of the search is on risks from global environmental change to people and the planet, including adapting to, planning for, and reducing such risks, and in understanding how risks and impacts differ across populations. We are searching for creative and innovative scholars with an established record of high-impact research and a commitment to building a strong research, education, and impact community around the topics of sustainable development and environmental justice. We invite candidates from a broad range of social science disciplines to apply. These cluster hires are part of a broader effort by Stanford University to build a new School focused on climate & sustainability (https://sustainabilityinitiative.stanford.edu/), which is expected to receive an official name early in 2022. Appointments from this search will be made in the School, and the School will begin operating in the 2022-2023 academic year.
