The Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of medical care for a diverse patient population with a broad range of advanced pulmonary diseases in outpatient clinics and on-inpatient consultation services, as well as the medical intensive care unit. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants should be board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Pulmonary disease.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, medical residents, fellows and advanced practitioners within the Health System and the VA Medical Center. Selected candidates will be expected to participate as an active member of Penn Graduate Programs based on his/her research role.
Clinical responsibilities may include proficiency in treating critically ill patients in the ICU unit, rounding on in-patient services for advanced lung disease and participating in a busy out-patient clinical practice at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Preferred candidates would have an interest and experience in education and systems improvement initiatives.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a clinical and/or translational research program.
