Position Summary:
Business Services is the department through which the financial, administrative and financial student service programs are provided to the campus. These programs include financial operations, financial systems, risk management, mail services, and duplicating services. The financial operations section focuses on accounting, budget, purchasing and accounts payable, travel, financial aid disbursement, cash handling, student service, grants and contracts support, and long term loans and collections.
This position functions as the student services manager for business services. They manage fee payment and provides administrative functions and oversight on all payment sites, billing, collections, cash activities, long term loan processing, check writing/disbursement, third party contracts, miscellaneous scholarships, state escheatment, merchant account set up, policy and procedure development, student refund processing, PCI compliance and government reporting.
The associate director is the institution's liaison to the USSE Treasury Operations group, cash management section of the state treasury and US Bank in all areas of cash management, banking activities, and interpretation of financial guidelines and principles. The associate director is also responsible for directing the student services side of business services and is familiar with contemporary customer service techniques and strategies.
The Associate Director is a member of the Enrollment Services Center leadership team and works collaboratively to provide excellent student enrollment services. The Enrollment Services Center provides integrated academic support services to students at Southern Oregon University in financial aid, registration, and payment activities. The department strives to meet students' expectations for convenience and for efficient and effective enrollment services.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, finance, or other related field and/or five years of extensive experience managing financial services. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
