Associate Vice President of Accounting, Reporting and Treasury

The University of New England (UNE), a private research university and the largest private university in Maine, invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President of Accounting, Reporting and Treasury (AVPART). Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration (SVPFA), the AVPART is responsible for accounting, cash management, financial reporting, endowment investment reporting, post-award grant reporting, financial audits and compliance, and other treasury functions. The AVPART is also responsible for developing procurement services and overseeing risk management. In addition to leading all day-to-day accounting operations and managing a team of finance and accounting professionals, the AVPART will be a key advisor to the SVPFA on fiscal and operational issues, a relationship builder who will guide campus leaders on finance and accounting procedures and explore ways the AVPART areas of oversight can best support their operations.

 

APPLICANT CHARACTERISTICS

 

The incoming AVPART will be a proven leader and financial executive with progressive experience related to fiscal affairs within a complex and vibrant organization, preferably within higher education. They will have a successful, proven record of sound administrative and financial judgment. High integrity with strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills. Their career will demonstrate progressively responsible leadership roles within financial administration.
