Assistant Director, Diversity Education & Training

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director, Diversity Education & Training in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

 

Primary Job Duties: Develop and deliver online and in-person education and training to promote and sustain diversity and inclusion. Participate in various campus collaborative programs, coordinate training and educational outreach and provide support for student and employee orientation. Assist with implementing strategic diversity initiatives and provide assistance with ODI programming. Assist employees by providing ombuds services upon request. Select, train and supervise department graduate assistants and student-workers.

 

Minimum Qualifications: Three to five years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Justice, Education, Higher Education, or a related field.  Demonstrated experience leading, designing, and delivering interactive diversity and inclusion training modules/courses in higher education, web-based and to include student facing programs. Experience assisting in implementation of inclusive excellence strategies in higher education.

 

Must have evidence of successfully working with traditionally U.S. defined minoritized student populations and collegial team relationships in higher education. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and in providing leadership in organizational change regarding strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives.  

 

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills.  Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: Preference is given to candidates with evidence-based experience in weaving intersectionality and innovation into diversity work.  Master’s degree preferred.

 

This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  This position may be required to work evenings and weekends, as necessary.
