The University of Maine System offers an exceptional opportunity for an information technology leader to work closely with talented, committed colleagues to lead the information technology strategy and operations for the University of Maine System through collaboration, innovation, technologies, and use of data to improve student success and academic programs, including online course/program delivery.

 

The Chief Information Officer assists the entire UMS leadership team in coordinating an array of strategies and technologies in analysis, planning, and implementation of strategic, academic technology systems and services across the seven UMS universities. The CIO reports directly to the Vice Chancellor for Administrative and Financial Affairs.

 

The CIO leads a unified team of 180+ technology staff in the delivery of technology services and systems to support all facets of the University environment. The UMS is now investing in its infrastructure, especially its wireless and classroom technologies to create high quality face to face, hybrid, distance and on-line experiences.

 

The successful candidate will have significant education and experience in  a relevant field including a combination of 12 years of education and experience in senior leadership within a large IT organization. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, quality performance and budget management.

The salary range is competitive, based on qualifications and experience. UMS offers a robust benefit package including medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents.  In addition, the UMS retirement program provides a 10% employer contribution.
