Vice President for University Advancement

With aspirations to be one of the most dynamic, private, urban universities in America, and with an intense focus on student success through distinctive, innovative and experiential learning, Point Park University, in Pittsburgh, Pa., is launching a national search for a vice president for university advancement.

 

Point Park seeks a successful and experienced leader committed to provide vision and leadership in the rapidly changing environment of higher education, and at a university committed to building a comprehensive advancement program to support Point Park’s goals for growth and excellence.

 

Point Park is a dynamic university with a strong focus on experiential learning, located in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh. The University was founded as a business training college in 1933 and became known as Point Park Junior College, named for the city’s historic Point State Park, in 1960. In 2003, following significant strategic planning, the college emerged as Point Park University.

 

The University provides innovative undergraduate and graduate education in a dynamic, urban setting. Dedicated to academic excellence and community engagement, Point Park prepares students of diverse backgrounds with the knowledge, skill and experience to lead meaningful lives as informed citizens and successful professionals.

The vice president for university advancement (VPUA) position at Point Park University will work closely with the president, members of the board of trustees, and leaders across campus and beyond as they envision, plan and seek philanthropic support to move the University forward.

 

The new VPUA will be a seasoned advancement professional who is excited by the mission of Point Park University, the University’s vision for the future, and the opportunity to build a university-wide advancement program. The successful candidate will be committed to relationship-based advancement work that values authenticity, integrity and personal engagement. It is expected that the new VPUA will possess a baccalaureate degree (graduate degree preferred), and 10 years of progressively responsible advancement experience that includes a demonstrated track record of success in securing annual and major gifts, and in leading advancement teams.

The Vice President for University Advancement Search Committee will begin reviewing applications in February and will continue the review until an appointment is made. To assure full consideration, applications should be received by March 1, 2022.  The new Vice President will be invited to begin work in April 2022.
