The Department of City & Regional Planning at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania welcomes applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Spatial Analytics. The faculty member will be the Program Director of the Master's Program in Urban Spatial Analytics (MUSA). Scholars whose research addresses the intersection of public policy, city planning, and data analytics are particularly welcome to apply.

This position is a full-time appointment (tenure track or tenure, based on experience) with responsibilities for teaching, research, and the administration of the MUSA program.

The Master of Urban Spatial Analytics is a one-year graduate program that teaches students how to use spatial analysis and data science to address the most pressing public policy and urban and regional challenges of our day. MUSA trains the next generation of civic technologists. The program combines coursework on GIS, spatial analysis, data science, statistics, R and python programming, data visualization and web-based mapping with world-class urban focused coursework from across the University of Pennsylvania. The program is administered jointly by the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design and the Penn Institute for Urban Research .

The Weitzman School includes City & Regional Planning, Architecture, Fine Arts, Historic Preservation, Landscape Architecture. The MUSA program is housed in the Department of City and Regional Planning, which also offers a two-year Master of City Planning degree. We welcome the new faculty member to participate in the various research centers located at the School and University.
