Radford University invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for University

Advancement. Radford University is seeking a dynamic leader who, working with President Brian O. Hemphill,

Ph.D., will help catapult the institution into an exciting new period.

Radford University is a comprehensive, mid-size public university that is known for student-focused academic

programs, a strong emphasis on service to others and a picturesque 204-acre campus. As a mid-size institution,

Radford University is known for its focus on teaching and close student-faculty interactions. Radford University

faculty members are invested in the success of their students. With a student-faculty ratio of 16 to 1, Radford

University’s faculty has been recognized for excellence and dedication.

The Vice President has direct responsibility for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding a significant

personal portfolio of major donors and providing support for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and

stewardship of the President’s portfolio of major donors and prospects. The Vice President will serve as a

member of the President’s senior leadership team and is responsible for strategic and operational planning for

University Advancement; developing and managing systems of accountability for staff in all areas of major gifts,

planned gifts, corporation and foundation relations, alumni relations and annual giving; managing budget

priorities; and representing Advancement within the Radford University community. The ideal candidate will

engage with the campus community and beyond, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, community members,

businesses and organizations. A proven record of extensive experience and strong leadership in a higher

education fundraising environment and with comprehensive campaigns is strongly preferred.

appointment is made, and applicants are encouraged to make their submissions by March 20, 2017. Application
