The Position: The Isenberg School of Management is seeking a Leadership Annual Giving Officer (LAG) to support and grow the Isenberg annual giving program. This position, as part of the Isenberg fundraising team, reports to the Executive Director of Development for Isenberg. The LAG officer plays a key role in planning and implementing the Isenberg School’s annual giving program and works with the School’s dean and major and principal gift officers to create opportunities for increased philanthropic support from all Isenberg constituents.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Qualifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards leadership annual gifts of $1,000-$25,000 and above among the Isenberg School’s internal and external constituencies for the purpose of student scholarships as well as general purpose, unrestricted gifts.

  • Creates and implements a successful strategy for leadership annual gift solicitations that 1) retains current and re-engages lost donors, 2) grows giving levels of current donors, and 3) ultimately increases unrestricted giving to the School.

  • Forms collaborative partnerships with Isenberg major and principal gift officers, staff and faculty and other members of the UMass Amherst community.

  • Develops and prepares briefing materials and assists in writing and editing of reports, gift agreements and donor proposals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. BA in business preferred.

  • Two or more year’s relevant experience in a development program, preferably with an educational institution. Equivalent experience in private sector sales or marketing will be considered.

  • Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting and closing gifts of $1,000+ required.

  • Exceptional people skills - the ability to be empathetic, responsive, resourceful and relationship-oriented.

  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the ability to navigate multiple projects with ease.

  • Ability and willingness to travel independently on a frequent basis required.

  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of prospect management systems.

  • Knowledge of database fundraising software CS Advance.

  • Web fundraising experience.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
