Full-time Instructor, Department of Psychology

Position Description: Full-time Instructor, beginning in August 2017. This is a new position. Instructor is the first step in a promotional ladder that runs parallel to the tenure track and can lead to more advanced ranks, such as Instructor II and Senior Instructor. This is therefore a renewable position. Primary consideration will be given to candidates with a completed Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology or Developmental Psychopathology and a strong record of effective teaching in Experimental Psychology, with emphasis in the developmental area. The successful candidate will be required to teach four undergraduate courses in psychology per semester, advise child development majors, and work in contact with the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (http://child.tcu.edu). A list of potential courses includes General Psychology, Child Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Child Development Case Studies, and Child Development Professional Development. Important strengths include excellent teaching, communication, and student mentoring skills.
