JOB DETAILS

The department of business is recruiting a full-time lecturer to teach marketing and sales courses on a 9-month academic year basis. This is a fixed-term appointment with intent for renewal; non-tenure track.

Anticipated start date is August 21, 2017.

The applicant should demonstrate excellence in delivering undergraduate marketing courses.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum / Required:

  • MBA
  • 3 years of Professional Work Experience in Sales and Marketing
  • 2 years of teaching experience

    Preferred / Desired:

  • PhD in marketing or related area

    RESPONSIBILITIES [JD1] 

    Teach courses in the marketing and sales area as assigned. Provide Department Chair and students your course syllabi.  Ensure that the syllabi align with the officially approved course curriculum information and includes instructor contact information. Communicate directly with the Department Chair regarding available course resources (textbooks, e-books, student expenses, etc.) and resource request timelines/procedures established by the university. Schedule, maintain office hours and/or online availability for students, in alignment with departmental expectations. Provide grades following the process/timeline established by the registrar. Participate in the university online learning environment, which includes the Learn@ UW learning management system. Participate in course and/or program assessment practices as requested. Participate in early alert and other student success initiatives as requested. Work with the Disability Services office (http://www.uwstout.edu/disability) to foster an inclusive learning environment, when students disclose the need for learning accommodations. Attend department/unit meetings as requested.     DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

    Department of Business is one of the fastest growing departments in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Management. The department offers undergraduate majors in Business Administration, Retail Merchandising and Management and Supply Chain Management.  The Department delivers courses for approximately 20 undergraduate majors within the university.  The department currently has 22 teaching staff and offers 50 different courses to over 2,500 students per semester.

All students are issued laptops. Faculty use the university’s online course delivery system and must be available for online interactions and/or alternate time frames for teaching. Faculty members teach, advise students, conduct research, assess student learning and engage in service activities.

Menomonie, Wisconsin, is a town of 16,000 located in the beautiful Chippewa River Valley, 25 miles west of Eau Claire and 60 miles east of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
