POSITION DETAILS

Reporting to the Dean of Diversity and Compliance/Chief Diversity Officer, the Specialist plays a critical role in assuring compliance with CUNY and Hunter search guidelines and requirements as well as compliance with Federal, State, City laws and CUNY policies as they relate to nondiscrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault and workplace violence protection.

Specific duties include the following:

Prepares yearly Affirmative Action Report, quarterly workforce reports, Discrimination Investigation Report, Vets 100 Report, Italian American Plan, Compensation Report;

Draft executive summaries and correspondence Dean of Diversity and Compliance;

Tracks and monitor all searches to adhere to CUNY, Hunter and affirmative action protocols by reviewing demographic information and tracking hiring process phases, ensuring necessary steps are followed;

Serves as liaison to HR for posting/hire processes;

Oversees receipt, administration and status of all sexual harassment, sexual assault and workplace violence complaints to ensure accurate documentation and prompt resolution of each complaint;

Organize and maintain all search files and all complaint files and records;

Assists in the conduct of investigations resulting from reports of sexual misconduct

Maintains and communicates public information concerning the College’s response to sexual misconduct cases and on support services available at the College and externally

Organizes and maintains

Collaborates with Chief Diversity Officer and campus management to develop and implement programs and events, create presentations and conduct trainings

Assists with preparing plans and reports, performing internal compliance audits and resolve questions and concerns;

Regularly accesses CUNYFirst to provide information such as PVNs, Recruitment Reports, Gender and Ethnicity Report, Applicant Pool Report.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree and four years’ related experience required.

Develops and administers employment compliance and diversity initiatives.

Assists in implementing Affirmative Action (AA), equal employment opportunity (EEO), and diversity policies by ensuring compliance with relevant federal, state, and local statutes such as Executive Order 11246, Title VII, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the American with Disabilities Act

Prepares data and creates reports on Affirmative Action Plans, recruiting activities and outcomes, and employee demographics, identifying trends and issues

Helps prepare and deliver innovative communications and training programs on diversity, compliance with employment law, implementation of the Affirmative Action Plan, and other topics as needed

Administers selected recruiting and search procedures

Assists in developing and implementing diversity awareness programs.

Performs related duties as assigned.
