Counselor - Counseling

<p>The Counselor (12-month) reports to the Assistant Dean of Student Services/Director of Counseling and must be able to work the assigned hours of 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. The Counselor will provide counseling services in the Student Success Center and also may assist in other areas when needed.&nbsp; Specific responsibilities will include:</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ol> <li>Provide individual and/or group educational, transfer, career and personal counseling to a diverse student population, including students with disabilities.</li> <li>Assist students in identifying their life&rsquo;s goals and assist with developing a plan inclusive of transferring or entrance to the workforce.</li> <li>Review and evaluate assessment and diagnostic information to determine reasonable accommodations, college placement, and other needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide liaison and consultation services for faculty regarding the coordinated delivery of services, resolution of academic accommodation issues, and disability management in the classroom to meet the educational needs of students with disabilities.</li> <li>Provide outreach counseling and retention advising for underrepresented and at-risk student populations.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in and assist with departmental and division-wide assessment efforts.</li> <li>Serve on campus and College committees.</li> <li>Assist in other counseling areas during peak periods, as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Student Services/Director of Counseling.&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean of Student Services/ Director of Counseling and/or the Associate Dean of Student Services.</li> </ol> <p>&nbsp;</p>
