The University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Business (COB). UHCL is a four-year Hispanic-Serving Institution offering degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels. The successful candidate will serve as the Chief Academic Officer for the COB and will be responsible for all matters relating to academic leadership and administration including oversight of academic programs, faculty, staff and budget. Candidates for the position must have a doctoral degree in a business-related field from an AACSB accredited program.


Candidates must have a record of achievement that justifies appointment as a full professor with tenure in the COB. Applicants must have at least five years of experience as a department chair, assistant or associate dean, or a similar position, with budgetary and supervisory authority. The successful candidate must also have experience in pursuing and/or maintaining AACSB accreditation.


The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong interest in expanding and enhancing the College of Business’ program offerings including on-campus, off-campus and online programs. Applicants should have strong support of faculty development and interdisciplinary academic excellence, commitment to diversity and inclusion, the ability to work cooperatively with faculty, and dedication to the principles of shared governance. The candidate should also have a track record of maintaining and strengthening the working relationships within the community including alumni, community college partners, businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations, resulting in university advancement, external funding, and research opportunities for faculty as well as employment prospects for students.
