The University of Vermont Foundation (UVM Foundation) seeks a dynamic and highly accomplished development leader to serve as its new president and chief executive officer. The president and CEO has primary responsibility for achieving annual and campaign fundraising goals, building the pipeline of future major gift donors, directly managing the foundation team and ensuring execution and completion of a $500-million comprehensive campaign.

The UVM Foundation’s mission is to foster relationships with alumni and donors that maximize their philanthropic investment in the University of Vermont toward the realization of the University’s aspiration to remain among the nation’s premier small research institutions.

The president and CEO of the Foundation is responsible for all of the fundraising operations and outcomes for the University of Vermont. The Foundation’s senior management team includes the vice president for development and campaign director, vice president for principal gifts, the chief development officer for academic health sciences, the vice president and chief finance officer, the associate vice president for advancement services, the vice president for alumni relations, the executive director of communications and the executive director of board relations.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high profile within the organization and externally in the community. The president and CEO has ultimate responsibility for the management and stewardship of the foundation’s assets, including working with the Foundation’s finance and investment committee on their oversight of its endowment. Additionally, he or she will manage a portfolio of high-level prospects and donors with responsibility for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gifts. The president and CEO of the UVM Foundation will have an opportunity to make a personal impact on the success of one of nation’s finest institutions.
