The University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Clinical Education to direct its Business Innovation Clinic.  This clinic provides free and low-cost legal services to qualified start-up businesses, small businesses, innovators, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit organizations.  Legal responsibilities of the Clinic Director will include assisting clients with incorporation, business contracts, nonprofit formation, and may include assisting clients with intellectual property matters.  The position is available beginning July 1, 2022 and will be an appointment for a two-year term.

 

The Clinic Director also will design and teach a weekly seminar class for clinic students, plan community-education workshops, and develop future funding opportunities.  This position currently is funded for two years with the possibility for continuation dependent on funding.

 

Required Education and Experience: Candidates must hold a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, be admitted to the practice of law and in good standing in at least one state or the District of Columbia, and have demonstrated experience in transactional and corporate law.  Candidates must be capable of admission to the Arkansas bar within one year of hiring.  Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.

 

Preferred Education and/or Experience: Three years of experience in the practice of law is preferred, along with experience in collaborating with community partners and experience in either clinical teaching of law students or supervising other attorneys.
