Dean, Conway School of Nursing

The Catholic University of America seeks an inspirational and visionary academic leader to serve as Dean of the Conway School of Nursing. The next Dean will lead an expansion of the faculty, staff, and student body, and his/her leadership and vision will be key to the organization’s long-term success.

The School is home to some of the most highly ranked programs in the nation. U.S. News and World Report ranks the M.S.N. program as 27th nationally, and its online M.S.N. program is ranked 5th. The NCLEX pass rates for the B.S.N. graduates over the last three years have been greater than 98.5%. With a strong academic foundation, the School is poised for tremendous growth and expansion.

Much of this growth is based on recent, and significant, philanthropic successes. Since 2013, the School has received $80 million from Bill and Joanne Conway for the support of undergraduate students and for providing one-half of the funding for a new state-of-the-art 102,000 square foot home for the School that is scheduled to open in 2024. Recently, Ascension has pledged $3 million to expand the school’s online offerings by developing an Acute Care Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner Program. Taken together, these, and other, investments will enable the University to help address the nation’s acute need for nursing care.

In particular, the Conway School of Nursing plans to double the number of undergraduate students, with a commensurate increase in its faculty and staff. Managing this expansion, while building upon and improving the quality of its educational and research programs, will be a key focus and exciting opportunity for the School in the near term.
