Instructor or Lecturer of Statistics & Data Science

The Department of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for TWO non-tenure earning, 9-month Instructor or Lecturer positions anticipated to begin August 2022.

 

An M.S. (for instructor rank) or Ph.D. (for lecturer rank) in Statistics or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the time of hire is required. All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered as long as the doctorate is completed by the date of hire.

 

The successful candidate will be required to teach introductory and/or advanced-level statistics courses as well as contribute to instructional activities such as tutoring, and serve on department, college, or university committees. Full-time lecturers and instructors may have the opportunity to earn additional salary teaching summer classes if funding is available.

 

The Department of Statistics and Data Science at UCF is dedicated to high-caliber research at the intersection of statistics, machine learning, data mining, computer science, and applied mathematics and to developing the statistical and analytical abilities of students for success in an increasingly data-driven world. The department currently offers a B.S. in Statistics, a B.S. in Data Science, a B.S. in Actuarial Science, an M.S. in Statistics and Data Science with a track in Data Science, and a Ph.D. in Big Data Analytics.
