ASSISTANT PROFESSORS OF PHYSICS (2)

Manhattan College is an independent Catholic coeducational institution in the Lasallian tradition. We expect our faculty, administration, and staff to be knowledgeable about our mission and to make a positive contribution to that mission.

The Physics Department at Manhattan College invites applications for two full-time, tenure track or renewable visiting, positions at the Assistant Professor rank, beginning in Fall 2017. Outstanding candidates are sought in two preferred areas of expertise: (1) any area of astrophysics including extragalactic and computational astrophysics, high energy astrophysics and cosmology, and (2) condensed matter physics/nanophysics.  The successful candidates should have a deep commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level, establish a strong research program and supervise student research. It is expected that the candidates will enhance research within the Department and foster collaborations with other researchers across the College and outside. Grant proposal writing is expected. A Ph.D. degree in physics or a related field is required. Some prior postdoctoral and teaching experience is desirable.

Applicants should submit in electronic form a cover letter, a curriculum vitae with publication record, the names and contact information of at least three references, a brief research plan, and a statement of teaching objectives.

Please submit all documents to Prof. Rostislav Konoplich at:
