The Department of Computer Science at Manhattan College invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor beginning fall 2017. The candidate should be able to teach a broad range of core computer science undergraduate and graduate courses and have an expertise in the area of networking and cybersecurity.


The candidate must present an evidence of excellence in teaching and an active research program. The candidate is expected to participate in program assessment, student advising, academic committees and community service. The candidate should have a PhD in Computer Science. An ABD candidate may be considered if Ph.D. is earned prior to start date of fall 2017.


The department offers both B.S. and B.A. degrees in Computer Science and plans to offer a graduate degree starting fall 2018. The current computer science faculty have background and expertise in cloud computing, operating systems, web and social networking, neural networks, image processing, machine learning, data mining and medical informatics.

Three letters of reference will be required from the finalists; two of these should address teaching ability.
