Assistant Teaching Professor of Chemistry (Organic)

The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics within the College of Natural and Health Sciences at the University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position beginning in August 2022.  This is a non-tenure track position with opportunities for promotion.

This position will have teaching and service requirements.  Primary teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Organic Chemistry I and II lecture and labs.  Candidates with experience in organic chemistry and related areas are encouraged to apply. 

 

The Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry & Physics consists of approximately 30 full-time faculty and academic staff members and more than 250 majors.  The Department awards degrees exclusively at the undergraduate level in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, Marine Science, and Physics.  Students have the opportunity to pursue degrees certified by the American Chemical Society (ACS), accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB), or the Forensic Science Educational Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC).  Approximately 25 majors graduate from the Department annually.

 

Qualifications

A PhD in Organic Chemistry is required (strong ABD candidates will be considered) and prior teaching experience with undergraduates is desirable.  A personal commitment to quality undergraduate instruction and advising within a culturally diverse student population is essential.
