The Lake Campus https://lake.wright.edu is Wright State University’s only regional campus and is situated on 173 scenic acres on the north shore of Grand Lake St. Marys between Celina and St. Marys in Mercer County. The Lake Campus is a valued community resource located approximately 75 miles north of Dayton, Ohio and the Dayton Campus of Wright State University.

Job Summary/Basic Function

The successful candidate will serve as the principal academic and administrative officer for the Wright State University Lake Campus, which includes the responsibility for personnel, general administration and management, budget, academic, and development functions. The responsibilities include:

  • Provide vision and leadership for all Lake Campus operational, academic, research, and workforce development activities.
  • Provide leadership in the ongoing strategic planning process for the Campus including development of long- and short-term goals, establishing base budgets for operations, capital budgets for current and future years; and, anticipating budget requirements, including human resource needs in a changing environment; plan budgets in alignment with strategic goals and investments, and implement strategies to grow net revenue through increased net tuition. Consult with and advocate on behalf of the Lake Campus with the Provost and senior university leadership on budget, enrollment, faculty, and administrative issues in carrying out the mission of the Lake Campus.
  • Provide oversight in the development and approval of courses and programs to ensure compliance with university and accreditation requirements and alignment with regional demand.
  • Ensure the integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement of all programs, resources, and services of Wright State Lake Campus. Assist in formulating, administering, and ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.
  • Drive enrollment and tuition revenue growth through responsive and innovative course delivery and scheduling that meets the needs and drive success for returning, future, and non-traditional students.
  • Strengthen and support student success across the full student life-cycle, supporting retention, degree completion, and return on investment through career success.
  • Support an environment for active and integrative learning that helps students achieve academic success and become career professionals, responsible citizens and life-long learners, building on the Lake Campus’ strong reputation for regional workforce development and engagement in addressing the challenges facing business, industry, and the world today.
  • Collaborate with the Dayton Campus to implement a strategic marketing program that attracts students as well as public attention to the unique opportunities provided by the Lake Campus and its role in driving regional development.
  • Represent the Lake Campus to alumni, other academic institutions, accrediting bodies, business and industry leaders, and the community at large.
  • Engage with communities surrounding the Lake Campus through town meetings, community events, and advisory boards to foster partnerships and economic development.
  • Continue to build and create a diverse and inclusive campus, curricular, and pedagogical environment. Work to recruit, attract, and retain faculty, students, and staff from underrepresented groups in higher education, including but not limited to ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, sexual orientation and disability status.

Requirements:

  • Terminal degree from accredited institution. 
  • Three years of demonstrated leadership in higher education with administrative personnel and budgetary experience. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to student centeredness and optimization of student learning.
  • Experience and or exposure to a multi-campus environment, including oversight of non-academic functions including student life, international student support, facilities, maintenance, security, IT, marketing, and enrollment management.

Preferred:

  • Established connections and contributions to Mercer and surrounding counties. 
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to helping students obtain a broad-based education. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex academic organization and work effectively with colleagues across divisions.
  • Evidence of recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty and staff, as well as team-building, supervision, and staff support for professional development. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
