Johnson & Wales University is excited to launch a nationwide search for President of our Charlotte Campus, which is part of a comprehensive university system providing students with opportunities in a wide breadth of industry-relevant disciplines.
Founded in 1914, Johnson & Wales University is a private, nonprofit, accredited institution with more than 8,700 graduate, undergraduate and online students. The university has two campuses — Providence, Rhode Island and Charlotte, North Carolina — and seven colleges. The time students spend at JWU will shape their lives for years to come. The university’s impact is global, with more than 110,000 alumni from all 50 states and 125 countries.
The Charlotte Campus opened in 2004 and currently enrolls nearly 1,400 students from across the U.S. and eight countries. This campus is spread over nearly 15 acres and nine buildings in uptown Charlotte and offers programs in food innovation, hospitality, business, liberal arts, and health and wellness. The newly repositioned College of Food Innovation & Technology builds on JWU’s reputation as a global leader in culinary education and is focused on the full breadth of the food economy — from sustainability to supply chain; health and wellness to packaging; product development to culinary.
The Charlotte Campus president is responsible for leading the campus to ensure the fulfillment of campus and systemwide strategic objectives. The president serves as the Charlotte Campus dean of academic affairs, who is the chief academic officer at the campus operating in concert with university objectives.
