Senior Director of Development, Leadership Annual Giving

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Development, Individual and Annual Giving, the Senior Director of Leadership Annual Giving will work closely with the Annual Fund and Leadership Giving team by coordinating the Advancement Office’s efforts to increase leadership giving to the Annual Fund with an emphasis on donor retention.

 

In addition, this position will build on the strong alumni affinity groups to find new strategies to strengthen donor participation and fundraising totals. Working closely with current staff across Advancement, this position will grow the Annual Giving donor base through the careful use of data, metrics, and best practices in annual giving. This position will work closely with the Assistant Vice President of Development, Individual and Annual Giving, and will directly supervise a team.

Duties:

 

  • Development of cultivation, solicitation, and recognition strategies for all Annual Fund prospective donors and coordination of cultivation and solicitation assignments; Provides strategic segmentation strategy around building and retaining a long-term pipeline of philanthropic support;
  • Establishes a robust solicitation process that has a focus on undergraduate alumni to assist in growing the donor count needed to bolster the university’s ranking in USN≀
  • Actively manage and coach the Leadership Annual Giving team and leverage the major gifts team and colleges to articulate and implement strategies needed to reach participation and fundraising goals, providing regular meetings and annual performance reviews;
  • Develop portfolios for each Annual Fund Leadership Annual Giving Officer in conjunction with Research team;
  • Regular evaluate programming, emerging digital technologies, dual asks, matching gifts and other partnerships with gift officers and strategies for leadership annual donors;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to help align donors’ philanthropic interests with various priorities across campus;
  • Partner with the Alumni Relations team and the Annual Giving team to identify new prospective donors and strategically assess their philanthropic capacity and inclination

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory experience; outstanding oral and written communication skills; commitment to collaborative approach to fundraising; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; and willingness to travel both on a regional and national level. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and database programs.  Knowledge of internet and website technology
