Dean, School of Computing and Engineering

Dean
School of Computing and Engineering

Quinnipiac University seeks a proven, strategic, visionary, and collaborative leader as the next dean of the School of Computing and Engineering. Reporting to the provost, the dean will cultivate the school’s distinctiveness, enrich its value to both graduate and undergraduate students, and advance its strategic plan toward becoming The University of the Future.

The university is in the process of renaming the School of Engineering to the School of Computing and Engineering to reflect the evolution of student interests and growing industry demands and opportunities. More than just a name change, this new direction provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to build on the school’s innovative applied curriculum, achievements in student outcomes, ABET accreditation efforts, and USNWR Ranking to achieve new levels of regional and national prominence.  The dean will lead efforts to develop and enhance the impact of QU’s engineering programs playing a critical role in developing interdisciplinary programs and multidimensional pathways for all Quinnipiac students interested in pursuing computing related careers. The School of Computing and Engineering will play a strategic role in regional workforce development efforts by helping to expand and develop corporate partnerships and building employment pipelines through expanded program offerings, including badges and certificates to build lifelong learning options.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a relentless commitment to academic excellence, an unwavering ethical compass, and a deep commitment to interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration. They also should possess a strong record of substantive actions to promote diversity, inclusion and equity in prior positions and organizations. The dean will be an enthusiastic communicator who will develop and implement a distinctive and creative vision for the school’s future in consultation with the faculty and staff, pursue clear strategic priorities, and raise and manage resources effectively to steadily advance those priorities.

The Search Committee will begin reviewing candidates immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  Priority consideration will be given to materials received before January 3, 2022.  Applications should include 1) a detailed CV and 2) a letter of interest that addresses the candidate’s interest in becoming the Dean, what experiences that make the candidate a good fit for the role, and why now is a good time for the candidate to consider this opportunity.  To ensure full consideration, inquiries, nominations, and applications (PDF preferred) should be submitted electronically, in confidence, to:
