About Arts and Humanities and the Position

The School of Arts and Humanities is dedicated to connecting the arts and humanities to everyday life. Arts and Humanities students graduate with the skills, knowledge, and habits of mind that equip them to live a successful and meaningful life in our rapidly changing, globalized world. Offering “majors that matter,” the School serves over 900 students across ten undergraduate programs in Art, Communications, English, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, Modern Languages & Literatures, Music, Philosophy, Theatre, and Religious Studies; and four Master’s programs: English, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Spanish. The School has 63 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 23 full-time lecturers, 86 part-time lecturers, and 19 staff.

The Dean of Arts and Humanities will serve as the School’s chief academic and administrative officer and will report directly to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs.
