Clinical Assistant Professor of Economics

ABOUT THE POSITION: The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a clinical assistant professor position in economics. We seek applicants who welcome the challenges and rewards of serving on a diverse and intellectually curious faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive high-tech community.    

Responsibilities: Effectively teach economics and related courses in graduate and undergraduate programs in face-to-face or online modes as needed by the college. Conduct and publish quality applied research in a collegial environment where both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations are valued. Participate actively in the profession, university service, and outreach to the local community.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in economics or a closely related field is required. We prefer candidates who have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and maintain scholarly or professional activities sufficient to meet the college’s AACSB qualification standards; candidates who have the ability and commitment to actively engage with businesses, organizations, and federal agencies in the region; and candidates who can lead community-oriented practical research projects such as economic impact studies. ABDs will be considered; however, all requirements for the doctoral degree must be completed by August 1, 2022 to be appointed at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.
