The University of New Hampshire (UNH), the flagship, land-, sea-, and space-grant research university of the University System of New Hampshire (USNH), seeks a strategic, energetic, and collaborative leader to serve as dean of the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics (Paul College). Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the dean is the chief academic and executive officer of Paul College and oversees all areas of its operation. The dean will join a vibrant and engaged Paul College community during a period of growth and optimism and will work strategically to leverage the formidable assets of Paul College for the benefit of its students, faculty, staff, and the University at large.

 

Based in the picturesque seacoast region of NH in the town of Durham, the University of New Hampshire is the main residential institution within the University System of New Hampshire. Recognized as a rising star among Research 1 (R1) universities, UNH retains the atmosphere of a New England liberal arts college with a faculty dedicated to undergraduate and graduate teaching and research. This deanship provides the new dean with the opportunity to lead a large academic unit in a dynamic and robust research university. The dean will serve a high-impact and visible role on campus, in the business community and across the state.

 

Paul College is an important driver of success in this flagship university. The College is home to over 100 faculty, whose commitment to over 2,300 undergraduate students and 350 graduate students fuels their teaching and acclaimed research. Paul College faculty include highly respected scholars in their fields and educators who share a commitment to incorporate the latest business and technological knowledge and methods into their courses. Paul College features six academic departments: accounting and finance, management, decision sciences, marketing, economics, and hospitality management. 

 

The dean will provide bold, visionary and innovative leadership for the College, driving growth and pushing excellence in academic programs, guiding and mentoring a talented faculty, and building cross-campus collaboration to realize new interdisciplinary academic initiatives. The dean will also serve as a champion for diversity, inclusion, and equity in the College and across the University. The dean will be an engaging and persuasive advocate for Paul College articulating its vision of growth and excellence. The dean will lead the development of new revenue streams, execute with strong financial acumen, and increase fundraising to support the growth and enhance the quality of the College.
