Job Description:

The Associate Dean of Academic Affairs reports directly to the Dean of Academic Affairs and provides leadership, supervision and support for the academic services and programs that promote the College's mission and institutional goals. As part of the academic leadership of the college, the Associate Dean contributes and actively engages in strategies aimed to advance diversity and equity in education.

Working closely with faculty, staff and administrators across units and departments, the Associate Dean has a broad range of responsibilities that may include the development, administration, evaluation and supervision of the College's credit and credit-free academic programs. The Associate Dean oversees several areas reporting to the Office of Academic Affairs potentially including: Registrar, Library, Dutchess@ Fishkill, Workforce Education, Credit-Free HSE and ESL Programs, DCC@FPC, Testing Center, Mary Louise Van Winkle Teaching Learning Center, College Connection Program, Math and Science Center, or Writing Center. The Associate Dean will also participate in governance as the OAA representative on any one of several committees.


Requirements:

Candidate must hold a Master's Degree in a college-related academic discipline and have completed additional graduate work (Doctorate preferred) with a minimum of five years’ experience in higher education.

Experience must include a minimum of three years full or part-time successful teaching experience and administrative experience with demonstrated leadership abilities and proven management skills to work successfully with faculty, students and other related personnel.

The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population and proven understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion as critical components of academic excellence and student success.
