Lecturer, Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks dynamic, career-oriented candidates to teach undergraduate laboratory courses. Applicants will be expected to teach both hands-on and computational undergraduate laboratory courses. Three years of experience teaching college level engineering and demonstrated interest in teaching is preferred. Candidates with an Engineering Education degree are strongly encouraged to apply. This full-time position starts at the earliest January 1, 2022 and July 1, 2022 at the latest. Full consideration will be given to candidates who apply by December 1, 2021. This is a non-tenure track full-time position that is contingent upon funding.

Candidates must have experience with experimental methods and be familiar with LABVIEW and MATLAB. Candidates must have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field. Additionally, candidates must have either (1) a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Education, or closely related field or (2) a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Education, or closely related field plus experience teaching college level engineering. The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of five departments in the College of Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is a dynamic department within a rapidly growing R1 research university. The ME Department has initiated an Aerospace Engineering (AE) Program with major and graduate programs starting in 2022. The department currently offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Aerospace Engineering. It is ABET accredited and has approximately 800 undergraduate and 40 graduate students. The university recently completed a $14-million renovation of the Mechanical Engineering building in 2017, and the new $100-million William N. Pennington Engineering Building, which includes an ISO-5 (CLASS
100) cleanroom, in 2020. Departmental resources include access to the University’s High Performance
Computing facility, and a 5700 sq. ft. Aerospace Engineering Experimental Station secured in support of
