Cottey College (www.cottey.edu) invites applications and nominations for the position ofVice President for Finance and Administration.

 

Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA) serves as a senior administrator on campus and is a member of the President's Council. This position has primary fiduciary responsibility for managing all aspects of the College’s financial policies and its physical assets. This role is responsible for the direction and oversight of all staff members and functions of the business office and payroll. The VPFA also oversees the areas of information technology, physical plant and Main Hall receptionist.  The position serves as staff to the Finance and Building Committee and the Audit Compliance and Risk Committee of the Cottey College Board of Trustees.

 

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in business administration or related field, seven years of experience in higher education or non-profit management or related job experience and be a CPA or have extensive accounting training and experience.  Preference is given for experience in independent higher education and single gender institutions as well as prior knowledge of Jenzabar and/or Fundriver.  Please visit www.hyatt-fennell.com for the full profile. 

 

Cottey College is an independent, women's liberal arts and sciences college and is a four-year baccalaureate-granting college. Virginia Alice Cottey founded the College in 1884 with the firm belief that women deserved the same quality of education as men. She bequeathed the College to the P.E.O. Sisterhood in 1927, making it the only nonsectarian college owned and supported by women. The P.E.O. Sisterhood, a philanthropic educational organization of over 225,000 members, is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for women.  The College is currently owned and supported by the P.E.O. Sisterhood.  The College is located in Nevada, Missouri (pop. 9,000), approximately 50 miles north of Joplin and 100 miles south of Kansas City. The campus occupies 14 buildings on 11 city blocks, and a 33-acre wooded recreational area with lodge. Cottey is one of the top two employers of the area.  The College boasts a residential student capacity of 350 women typically representing 40 states, Canada and 26 countries.
